Answers to frequently asked questions
Once I have paid for my downloads, how do I get the files?
Downloads are made available as soon as payment is made. You will see a button that will give you the dialog box asking you to download the zip file.
Our images are compressed as zip files to make downloading faster and to protect the file during transport. Most computers are equipped to automatically recognize a zip file and open it when clicked on. If for some reason your computer does not have this capability, you can try Winzip (Windows) or Stuffit Expander (Mac), both offer free demos that will unzip our files.
Can I download my order again?
Yes, you can download your images more than once for up to 3 months after purchase. Be sure to bookmark your confirmation page with the download buttons, then when you return to this page, you will be asked to enter the credit card number that you used to purchase the image as identification, but you WILL NOT be charged again.
What format are image files?
They are in RGB mode (when using the images for offset printing they must first be converted to CMYK).
I see different file sizes offered, which resolution should I choose?
72 dpi images are best for web and screen viewing, and 300 dpi, are best for print. If you need to use the file at multiple sizes that exceed the size(s) offered in jpeg format, purchase the eps file which will allow you to resize the art without limits. Not all images are available as eps.
Can I resize the images myself?
You can REDUCE the size of the jpeg images with any image editing software without loss of quality. However, if you need a larger size than what is offered in a jpeg, then you should purchase the EPS vector image.
What are EPS vector images?
EPS images are resolution independent vector based artwork that is re sizeable. That is, you can print a matchbook or an outdoor board without loss in resolution and crispness when you purchase the eps version of the file. Note, you will need a vector based drawing program such as Adobe Illustrator to open and access an EPS file.
Why are some of the clip art images in PNG format?
PNG file formats compress the file without distorting it or sacrificing image quality. In addition, the advantage to png files is that they have a transparent background which makes it easier to use in layers with other images in programs like photoshop or for templates in scrapbooking.
